5 Duas to Relieve Stress

I compiled the top five duas that help relieve stress and bring comfort to the hearts and minds. Some are verses from the Quran, while others are ahadith from the Sunnah.

1. ''Our Lord! Do not lay on us a burden as You have laid upon those before us.'' (Surah Al-Baqarah 2 ,verse 286)

Rabbanaa walaa tahmil alaynaa isran kamaa hamaltahu alallatheena min qablina

2. Anas bin Malik said “Whenever a matter would distress him, the Prophet (ﷺ) would say: ‘O Living, O Self-Sustaining Sustainer! In Your Mercy do I seek relief (Yā Ḥayyu yā Qayyūm, bi-raḥmatika astaghīth).’” (At Tirmidhi)

3. Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri and Abu Huraira:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that." (Sahih)

4. It was narrated that Asma’ bint ‘Umais said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught me some words to say at times of distress: Allah! Allahu Rabbi la ushriku bihi shay’an (Allah, Allah is my Lord, I do not associate anything with Him).” (Sahih)

5. Our Lord, complete our light for us and forgive us. Surely, You have power over all things. (At-Tahrim, Chapter 66, Verse 8)

rabbana atmim lana noorana waighfir lana innaka AAala kulli shayin qadeer
